Cleveland Mitchell was on the first Panamanian national team, in the 1930 Central American Games. He hit cleanup in their first game, going 3 for 4 with 4 runs against the Salvadoran national team. He hit .347 with 6 runs in 6 games for the Bronze Medalists, trailing Ramón Ruiz by two for the team lead in runs while only Federico Buchanan had a better average. He handled eighteen chances error-free, split between short and third, leading both positions in fielding for the Games.
