Biographical Information[edit]

Cicero Weaver was a minor league player.

According to an article in the September 7, 1922 Greensboro (NC) Daily Record, Cicero Weaver, who hailed from the North Carolina Smoky Mountain area, played for Weaver College, a junior college in 1921. That summer he played in the Appalachian League for the Johnson City Soldiers, going 2-1 with a 3.75 ERA. He was chosen by the Philadelphia Athletics in the 1921 Rule V Draft.

According to the Daily Record story, Connie Mack wanted to send down Weaver to the Fort Worth Panthers of the Texas League for 1922 but Weaver declined because "Texas was too close to Mexico."

In September 1922, he enrolled in Trinity College (now known Duke University) where he planned to play football.
