Chukchansi Park is the home of the Fresno Grizzlies, the Colorado Rockies' Single-A California League farm team. HOK Sport (now Populous) designed the only four-level ballpark in Minor League Baseball.

MLB's 2021 Minor League Reorganization lowered the Grizzlies three levels from the Triple-A Pacific Coast League.

In the expansion of 1998, the Arizona Diamondbacks bumped the Phoenix Firebirds to Fresno. The Grizzlies played at Fresno State University's Pete Beiden Field until then-Grizzlies Stadium opened in 2002. The Chukchansi Tribe bought naming rights effective in 2007, agreeing to pay more than $1 million a year to promote its casino - and later renewing for another 10 years.

"The Chuk" hosted its biggest baseball crowd to date on August 6, 2015, when the Grizz got involved with an existing Fresno festival called "The Taco Truck Throwdown" - playing as the "Fresno Tacos" while a hord of taco trucks sold their wares and competed for two titles, one voted by judges and the other by the crowd. With 14,000 tickets sold in advance, the stadium hosted 16,916 that day. Taco Bell promptly tweeted an offer to buy "tacos for all of Fresno" if the Grizz made the Tacos nickname permanent. They didn't, but both tweet and promotion went viral.

Since then, however, the Grizzlies have often played as the Fresno Tacos - but the Throwdown itself, which got such a boost from the Grizz, evolved into an even bigger series of events that culminates at the stadium after the season.[1] That 16,916 crowd is the largest ever in any stadium currently hosting Low-A ball, although it should be noted that the Grizz were still in Triple-A at the time.

The Chuk appeared as itself in Parent Trap (2012).

In 2019, The Chuk was the site of an unfortunate accident as a fan taking part in a taco-eating contest at a Grizzlies game collapsed and died.
