Biographical Information[edit]

Chuckie Fick is the nephew of major leaguer Robert Fick and minor leaguer Chris Fick. His father Chuck Fick is a scouting director for the Cardinals.

Fick went 9-3 as a high school senior in 2004. In 2005, he allowed 15 hits and 8 runs in 8 innings for Fresno State University. He transferred to Cal State Northridge and was 6-7 with a 4.48 ERA as a sophomore. In 2007, he was 0-7 with a 7.11 ERA. His father's organization, the St. Louis Cardinals, picked him in the 15th round of the 2007 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Jeff Ishii and made his pro debut with the Johnson City Cardinals (1-0, 2 Sv, 1.29, 4 WP in 14 IP) and Batavia Muckdogs (1-0, 2.16 in 9 games). In 2008, he pitched for the Quad Cities River Bandits, going 6-5 with a 3.17 ERA and walking only 15 in 93 2/3 IP.
