Biographical Information[edit]

Chuck Wanke pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Wanke was 0-3 with a 4.88 ERA for the independent Bend Bucks in 1990, and he had a 5.16 ERA in 13 games for the Everett Giants affiliated with the San Francisco Giants in 1991. He went 9-10 with a 4.10 for the Clinton Giants in 1992, and threw a no-hitter against the Peoria Chiefs. He was 6-7 with a 5.08 ERA for the San Jose Giants. Going back to the indy leagues, Wanke went 3-2 with a 3.89 ERA for the Sioux Falls Canaries in 1994.

He was a strike replacement player for the Giants during the 1995 strike then he pitched 43 games with a 4.35 ERA for the Shreveport Captains in 1995, going 2-3 with four saves. He returned to Sioux Falls in 1996, and he recorded a 6.75 ERA in 6 games. The Uni-President Lions signed him in 1997, and he had a 3.09 ERA in 16 relief outings. Wanke then pitched 8 games with a 4.06 ERA for the Canaries, and he announced his retirement.
