Biographical Information[edit]
Chuck Armstrong was president of the Seattle Mariners from 1986-1989 and again from 1992-2014. A Navy Veteran (1967-1970), he worked as a lawyer. He was part a dispute over how Seattle should use the top pick in the 1987 amateur draft; he and scout Roger Jongewaard convinced owner George Argyros to pick Ken Griffey Jr. even though Argyros had pushed strongly for Mike Harkey. Armstrong served on the Veterans Committee for the 2016 Hall of Fame Election.
