Biographical Information[edit]
Chu-Hsuan Yeh played in the CPBL for 12 years. His uncle Hsu-Hao Ma also played in the CPBL.
Yeh was drafted by the Lamigo Monkeys in the sixth round of the 2009 CPBL Draft, and he hit .313/.428/.452 in the CPBL minor league in 2010. He led the minor league in OBP, SLG and runs. Yeh then hit .162/.293/.250 with the big club in 2011, and he broke out in 2012. His batting line was .300/.393/.500 with 7 homers in 74 games, and he got 22 points in the CPBL Rookie of the Year Award voting. Yeh was 0-for-11 in the 2012 Taiwan Series, and he won his first Taiwan Series title as the Monkeys beat the Uni-President Lions in 5 games.
The Taichung native slumped to .273/.349/.351 in 2013, and his batting line fell to .214/.264/.316 in 2014. As the Monkeys had several talented infielders like Yen-Wen Kuo and Cheng-Fei Lin, Yeh was mainly placed in the minor league. He only got 201 at-bats combined in the next six seasons, and the Monkeys released him in 2020 despite his breaking the minor league record with 73 runs scored. The Fubon Guardians signed him, and Yeh hit .301/.412/.386 in 40 games in 2021. After hitting .265/.359/.319 in 2022, Yeh announced his retirement and became a coach for the Guardians.
Overall, Yeh had hit .285/.406/.419 with 226 hits and 10 homers in 12 seasons in the CPBL. As of 2023, he was the career leader of the CPBL minor league in games, at-bats, runs, RBI and walks.
