Biographical Information[edit]

Chris Koeiman has pitched in the Hoofdklasse for the Curaçao national team. One wonders if he is related to Elton Koeiman.

He was on the Willemstad team in the 2012 Little League World Series and hit a 3-run homer against Germany. [1] He went 1-1 with a 1.64 ERA for the Netherlands in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup, losing to Ethan Hankins and the US but shutting out Mexico (it was one of three solo shutouts in the tournament). [2] He was 6-4 with a 4.00 ERA as a freshman at Arizona Western College with 101 K in 80 IP and 12-2, 1.44 as a sophomore. He was All-Arizona Community College Athletic Conference. [3] In the 2019 World Port Tournament, he was with Curaçao and lost to Chun-Chang Su and Taiwan, going 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA. His .185 opponent average was 5th (between Su and Rob Cordemans), but his 9 walks led the tourney by 4. [4]

The right-hander transferred to Tennessee Wesleyan and was 2-2 with a 2.96 ERA before the 2020 season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. He improved to 7-0, 2.10 as a redshirt junior. He was 5th in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in ERA and tied for 8th in wins. He fell to 7-2, 3.31 the next summer. He tied for 10th in the AAC in victories. In the 2022 Haarlem Baseball Week, he allowed four hits, two walks and two runs in one inning of work. [5] Signing with RCH-Pinguïns for 2023, he had a 0.54 ERA in nine regular-season relief appearances. [6]

Making Curaçao's squad for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, he allowed two hits, two walks and two runs in three innings, with scoreless work against Cuba and Nicaragua sandwiched around a forgettable two runs-and-no-outs against Venezuela. He tied Hershelon Juliana for the team lead in appearances. [7]
