Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Christopher Kirsch began his professional career in 2013.

He was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 13th round of the 2010 amateur draft -- ahead of pitcher A.J. Griffin -- but opted not to sign. He was then taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 21st round of the 2011 amateur draft, but again didn't sign. After being taken by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 14th round of the 2012 amateur draft, he did sign. The scout was Lou Wieben.

He began his pro career with a 8.10 ERA in 10 relief appearances for the Princeton Rays, but improved the next campaign, going 6-3 with a 3.01 ERA in 21 6 games (16 starts) between the Hudson Valley Renegades and Charlotte Stone Crabs. With the Bowling Green Hot Rods in 2014, he went 9-8 with a 2.84 mark in 24 starts. He began 2015 with Charlotte.
