Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Chris Garia helped Willemstad win the 2004 Little League World Series. The next year, he served up the losing extra-inning homer in the finale of the 2005 Little League World Series as Willemstad failed in its bid to become the first repeat titlist since 1992-1993. Four years later, at age 16, he signed with the Texas Rangers. He had been a competitive sprinter until early 2009 when a hamstring injury caused him to focus more on baseball. Garia started his minor league career with the DSL Rangers - he was 2 for 17 after 9 games with 3 steals, 3 walks and 7 runs.
