Outfielder Chris Emanuele played his 4th minor league season in 2009.

Emanuele played for the Canadian junior national team in 2001-2002. He hit .379/.538/.517 with 10 walks in 8 games for Canada in the 2002 World Junior Championship, when they shared the Bronze with Team USA. The Canadian center fielder didn't even manage to lead his own team in walks as Adam Loewen drew 15. In June 2002, Baseball America rated him the #62 prospect prior to the MLB draft. Going on to college, he hit .335/.387/.500 with 13 steals in 16 tries as a freshman. He was named second-team All-America East Conference.

In 2004, the sophomore flyhawk batted .294/.333/.421 in an off-year before a leg injury cut his season short. As a junior in '05, he produced at a .340/.380/.574 rate with 17 swipes. He set a school record with 71 hits in a season. He made All-Conference in the outfield. His senior season, 2006, Chris hit .313/.381/.547 while playing error-free ball for the second straight year. He also stole 16 bases in 20 tries.

He was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 26th round of the 2006 amateur draft. He made his pro debut that summer with the Pulaski Blue Jays, hitting .323/.414/.456 with 42 runs, 2 home runs and 23 RBI in 60 games before a late-season promotion to the Auburn Doubledays (where he was 5 for 14 with a double and a homer). He tied Chase Fontaine for 4th in the Appalachian League in runs, six behind leader Desmond Jennings. Emanuele tied for 6th with 30 walks and was third in average behind Larry Williams and Travis Snider.

The following year, he was with the Lansing Lugnuts and hit .266/.341/.408 with 6 homers and 51 RBIs in 100 games. With the Dunedin Blue Jays in 2008, he batted .245/.336/.363 with 8 home runs and 49 RBIs in 116 games and went 4-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs against the Clearwater Threshers on May 27th. He had 11 assists in the outfield. He split the 2009 campaign between Dunedin and Lansing, hitting .260/.333/.394 with 22 steals in 29 tries, 9 homers and 37 RBI between the two clubs.
