Biographical Information[edit]

Chris Di Roma pitches in Serie A1 and has appeared with the Italian national team.

Di Roma was 18-10 with three saves from 2002-2004 for the University of New Haven. In 2005, he came to Serie A1 and was 3-6 with a 4.30 ERA for Ceci & Negri Parma. He joined the Italian national team for the 2005 European Championship, with a save and a 7.94 ERA. Chris was with Italy for the 2006 World University Championship. That year, his record was 5-3 with 2 saves and a 3.06 ERA in Serie A1. Di Roma had a 5.06 ERA in the 2006 Intercontinental Cup and led Italy with five relief appearances. In 2007, Di Roma went 4-1 with a save and 2.14 ERA for Cariparma. He was 9th in Serie A1 in ERA. Chris threw three scoreless innings in the 2007 European Championship. In the 2007 Baseball World Cup, Di Roma was 0-1 with a 9.82 ERA and 10 hits allowed in only 3 2/3 IP. He took the defeat in a 1-0 decision against the Taiwanese national team in relief of Tony Fiore; it was a controversial defeat due to a couple umpiring calls which were questionable. Di Roma is moving to Telemarket Rimini for 2008.

Di Roma throws a fastball around 88 mph; his out pitch is a curveball.
