Biographical Information[edit]
Choichi Aida was a pitcher for Waseda University before he broke his shoulder. He then became their coach, reviving the program after World War II. He spent over 30 years as a director, umpire or other official with the Tokyo Big Six University League. In 2014, he was voted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in a class with Koji Akiyama, Kazuhiro Sasaki and Hideo Nomo.
