Biographical Information[edit]
Chieh-Sen Ma played in the CPBL and for the Chinese Taipei national baseball team.
Ma was drafted by the Rakuten Monkeys in the first round of the 2020 CPBL Draft; he received a 4.8 million NT dollars signing bonus. He spent almost his entire first season in the minor league, and he only played 3 games with the big club. Ma improved and hit .277/.329/.318 in 67 games in 2021, but he was demoted and stayed in the minors in 2022. He was brought into the 2022 Taiwan Series, and he had a 1-for-5 record, with a double against Che-Yuan Wu. The Monkeys were swept by the CTBC Brothers. Ma hit .220/.226/.264 in 37 games in 2023, and he was 0-for-1 with a walk in the 2023 Taiwan Series and the Monkeys lost to the Wei-Chuan Dragons in 7 games. He then represented Taiwan in the 2023 Asia Professional Baseball Championship after the season, but he was 0-for-5 in the entire event. Taiwan beat Australia to win Bronze.
