Biographical Information

Chia-Yu Chien pitched in the CPBL for 4 years.

Chien was drafted by the EDA Rhinos in the 5th round of the 2013 CPBL Draft, and he had a 6.09 ERA in 12 games in 2014. He had a 11.74 ERA in 10 games in 2015, and his ERA was 4.15 in 4 games in 2016. Chien only pitched 3 games with the big club in 2017, then he announced his retirement.

Chien’s repertoire included a fastball (peak 88.8 mph), curveball and forkball.

Overall, Chien was 1-0 with a 8.26 ERA ,pitched 44 2/3 innings and struck out 17 in 4 seasons in the CPBL.
