Biographical Information[edit]
Chet Nichols, usually referred to as "Chet Nichols, Sr.", was the father of Chet Nichols, Jr. and grandfather of Steve Nichols. Chet Sr. pitched six seasons in the majors, mostly getting cups of coffee, with 44 total games. He had turned 29 before he made his first major league appearance.
Chet was born, and died, in Rhode Island, as was the case with his son Chet, Jr. Both father and son were pitchers. However, the father was a righty while the son was a lefty.
