Biographical Information

Chet Montgomery played baseball and basketball in college. He was a high school basketball coach before going into scouting. He scouted for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1963-1967), Cincinnati Reds (1968-1988), was the Scouting Director of the Cleveland Indians and then worked in the front office of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also scouted for the Atlanta Braves in 2002 at least. He signed Tom Browning.
