Biographical Information[edit]

Charlie Shirek pitched six seasons in the Chicago White Sox chain.

After attending the University of Nebraska, Shirek was selected by the White Sox in the 23rd round of the 2007 amateur draft. He made his pro debut that summer with the Kannapolis Intimidators, getting into 6 games. He spent 2012 with the AAA Charlotte Knights, going 11-5with a 3.65 ERA and leading the club with 117 strikeouts. Following that season, he was released by Chicago to pursue opportunities in Korea in 2013.
