Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Charlie Greene was 2 for 5 for Team USA in the 1999 Pan American Games, backing up Marcus Jensen at catcher. His average was the best on the team. 10 years earlier, he had backed up Gregg Zaun at the 1989 World Junior Championship and gone 0 for 2 for the Gold Medalists.
After his playing career ended, Greene became a minor league catching instructor in the Milwaukee Brewers system. As of 2011, Greene was the Brewers' minor league Field coordinator in addition to catching instructor. In 2024, he was promoted to bullpen coach with the major league team.
His father Charlie Greene, Sr. was a long-time college coach (and coached Charlie at Miami Dade).
