Biographical Information[edit]
Charlie Cady pitched in the National League at 17 and in the Union Association at 18. In one of many signs that the UA was an easier league, he was much more effective there than he had been in the NL. Cady, a two-way player, was in five games as a pitcher and six as a position player but he was not much of a hitter. Charlie made one website's list [1] of players with the most plate appearances without hitting a single. Only one other major leaguer (through 2019) has had the last name "Cady" - Hick Cady.
