Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Ahearn played one game for the 1880 Troy Trojans, a team known for also having five Hall of Famers: Dan Brouthers, Roger Connor, Buck Ewing, Mickey Welch and Tim Keefe.
He was long-misidentified as "Charlie Ahearn" until research done by SABR members had unearthed more information about him. His first name was actually William and he was from Troy, NY. In addition to his short ballplaying career, he was a county clerk for a number of years and also worked as a collar turner, according to city directories. He died in 1919.
