Biographical Information[edit]

Bill Ahearn played one game for the 1880 Troy Trojans, a team known for also having five Hall of Famers: Dan Brouthers, Roger Connor, Buck Ewing, Mickey Welch and Tim Keefe.

Research by SABR members has unearthed more information about Ahearn. His first name was actually William and he was from Troy, NY. In addition to his short ballplaying career, he was a county clerk for a number of years and also worked as a collar turner, according to city directories. He died in 1919.
