Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Charles Kessler played in the Cincinnati Reds minor league system from 1973 to 1976.

He was drafted by the Reds in the first round, 22nd overall, of the 1973 amateur draft - between catcher Steve Swisher and pitcher Randy Scarbery, ahead of catcher Steve Nicosia and in the same round as Hall of Famer Robin Yount.

He hit .235/?/345 with 148 hits in 201 games over four seasons. Perhaps his best campaign was 1974 - that year, he hit .238/.331/.334 with 9 home runs, 49 RBI and 92 hits in 119 games for the Tampa Tarpons.
