Charles Holacher
Charles Holacher
Biographical Information[edit]
Charles Holacher was a minor league baseball player who pitched as well as played outfield and shortstop for a number of teams between 1885 and 1889. He started in 1885 with the Wilmington Blue Hens (which later became the Atlantic City, NJ ball club in June of that year). His stats from then are unknown. He also played for the Augusta Browns and Charleston Seagulls of the Southern Association in 1886. He jumped to the Duluth Freezers of the Northwestern League in 1887. For unknown reasons, he did not play professional ball in 1888 but returned in 1889 with the Davenport Hawkeyes of the Central Inter-State League, for whom he is listed as manager for part of the season. In total he had 9 documented wins and 21 documented losses, but these stats are not complete due to his 1885 totals remaining a mystery.
As of 2024, there have been no other notable players with the name Holacher, however the Chicago Cubs had a shortstop named Charlie Hollocher in the 1920s.
