Biographical Information

Chao-Jung Liao pitched in the CPBL for 4 years.

Liao represented Taiwan in the 1981 World Junior Championship and 1984 Haarlemse Honkbalweek. The Uni-President Lions signed him when they were founded in 1990, and he had a 7.30 ERA in 16 games. He only pitched 2 games in 1991, then his ERA was 6.84 in 15 games in 1992. After allowing 13 runs in 11 innings in 1993, the Lions released Liao and his professional career ended. He committed suicide in 2015.

Overall, Liao was 0-4 with a 7.35 ERA, struck out 39 and pitched 82 innings in 4 seasons in the CPBL.
