Pitcher Chance Chapman played in the Philadelphia Phillies system from 2007 to 2011. He reached Triple A in 2011.

Drafted in the 8th round of the 2007 amateur draft (the scout was Paul Scott), a couple picks after pitcher Chad Bettis, Chapman began his professional career by going 5-3 with a 2.09 ERA in 14 starts for the Williamsport Crosscutters, earning a spot on the New York-Penn League Mid-Season All-Star squad. The next year, he was 7-7 with a 2.98 mark in 26 games (23 starts) for the Lakewood BlueClaws. After converting to relief for the next campaign, Chapman went 10-2, 2.13 in 49 appearances between the Clearwater Threshers and Reading Phillies. He never again had such success, posting middling ERAs through the rest of his career. In his only Triple A stint, his mark was 5.29 ERA in 17 games.

Overall, Chapman went 27-19 with a 3.13 ERA in 150 games (43 starts).
