Pitcher Chadd Blasko was selected by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 47th round of the 1999 amateur draft but did not sign, opting to attend Purdue University instead. He was then selected by the Chicago Cubs in the supplemental first round of the 2002 amateur draft. He made his pro debut the following summer and spent most of the year with the Daytona Cubs. With Daytona, he went 10-5 in 24 starts and led the Florida State League with a 1.98 ERA. After spending 2004 with the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx, he missed the following two years.

After being let go by the Cubs, Blasko joined the Fort Worth Cats of the independent American Association. He played two games for the Cats before his contract was sold to the Baltimore Orioles. He then went 0-3 with a 7.33 ERA in 17 games for the Frederick Keys in what would be his final pro season.

Blasko eventually returned to Purdue as an assistant coach.
