From "Baseball Team names-A Worldwide Dictionary"
The following was noted on page 11 regarding Adrian, MI et al and the other seven clubs in the SML/SMA from 1909 through 1914.
"The Southern Michigan (D) circuit was designated as "League" (1909) and Association (1910-14)".
On page 17 from the same book, is noted the following, "The 1915 Buckeye League is referred to as Class D."
Don't know about that statement. The 1915 SN mentions this league several times as being independent.

That's fine, but it doesn't have anything to do with this category. --Philippe (talk) 11:10, 30 November 2016 (EST)
I think we can agree to disagree. Most of the cities involved in the SML/SMA are located in Michigan... so I think it has a Lot to do with the Michigan category.
It would have to do with the League(s) where all the cities are located, not the state where most of the cities are located. --Jeff (talk) 10:38, 1 December 2016 (EST)
