Category talk:German National Team Players

From BR Bullpen

Neat research tidbit of the day - while tracking down a claim that 1980s-1990s German team player Martin Helmig played in the Braves minor leagues (still can't find any evidence), I discovered that his father, Claus, one of the greatest German team players, appeared in the minor leagues in 1956. I didn't realize there were any Europeans in the minors way back then. Cool. - --Mischa 20:53, 22 January 2008 (EST)

Up to 50 with Sascha Brockmeyer. Our 21st senior national team category to 50 players - the 16 teams from the first two World Baseball Classics, then Nicaragua, Spain, the Netherlands Antilles, Britain and Germany. - --Mischa 15:27, 11 September 2012 (EDT)

Nadir Ljatifi is our 100th entry. Germany is the 20th country to 100. The countries to 100: USA, Japan, South Korea, Cuba, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Venezuela, Italy, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, China, Nicaragua, Panama, Spain, Great Britain, South Africa and Germany. They passed the Antilles since hitting 50. - --Mischa (talk) 14:01, 29 August 2016 (EDT)

Our 150th player here is Hans Grünzinger. Back to 21st on the list, trailing the USA, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Cuba, Italy, the Netherlands, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Panama, China, Great Britain, Spain, Colombia and Brazil. Colombia and Brazil have passed them since they were at 100, while they passed South Africa. - Mischa (talk) 16:08, 10 May 2021 (UTC)

The 200th is Mathias Winterrath. Back to 20th, after the USA, Japan, South Korea, Cuba, Taiwan, the Dominican Republic, Canada, Venezuela, Mexico, Italy, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, the Netherlands, Australia, Colombia, Brazil, Great Britain and China. They passed up Spain for the first time but Spain might have more red links from the 1950s-1970s so could pass them back up. - Mischa (talk) 19:20, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
