Biographical Information[edit]

Casper Asbjornson came up as a 19-year-old catcher with the Boston Red Sox in 1928 and was one of the youngest players in the American League. In 1931, he hit .305 for the Cincinnati Reds as a teammate of Edd Roush in Roush's last season. Casper hit well over .300 during his early years in the minors from 1928 to 1930, and also showed some power. His father emigrated from Norway in 1904, while his mother had come over from Sweden. They settled in Concord, MA, where Casper grew up.
