Biographical Information[edit]

Carlton Hardy was a minor-league player and has been a college coach.

Hardy played his collegiate ball at Grambling. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies as a third baseman in the 37th round of the 1991 MLB June Amateur Draft.

He played one season in the minors for the Martinsville Phillies of the Appalachian League, hitting .133/.227/.190 with 35 K in 105 AB and fielding .921 at 3B.

After leaving professional baseball, he was hired by Talladega College in 1998 as its head baseball coach. Hardy coached two seasons before leaving to become the head baseball coach at Olivet College. He was at Olivet for six seasons, amassing a record of 105-123.

In 2006, he was named head coach of Savannah State University. In 2013, Hardy led the Tigers to its first-ever Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship and NCAA Regional Appearance.
