Biographical Information[edit]
Carlos Sanchez pitched in the Mexican League from 1966 to 1974.
He helped the Mexican national team win Bronze in the 1963 Pan American Games; he homered off Cuba in Cuba's lone loss. [1] His best campaign in the LMB was 1969, when he went 17-10 with 11 complete games and a 3.04 ERA in 39 games (31 starts) for the Sultanes de Monterrey. On April 11, he tossed a no-hitter against the Charros de Jalisco, winning 6-1. The next year, he went 14-12 with 13 complete games and a 4.08 ERA in 41 games (34 starts) for the same team. In his final season, 1974, his 18 losses for the Indios de Ciudad Juarez tied Byron Wilkerson, Darrell Turner and John McAllen for most in the entire minor leagues. He still managed 12 complete games that season.
He was 78-90 with a 3.84 ERA in 264 career games. Through 2000, he was tied for 91st in LMB history in starts (194, even with Ricardo Osuna), tied for 94th in losses (with Eduardo Acosta, Theolic Smith and Aurelio Castaneda) and tied for 97th in complete games (66).
