Biographical Information[edit]
Carlos Rivera won the Mexican League batting title in 2007 at .410. He was 2 for 12 with two walks for the Yaquis de Obregón in the 2008 Caribbean Series. His 2007 performance earned him a trip to Taiwan, where he hit .313/.376/.446 in 29 games for the 2008 Brother Elephants.
He was MVP of the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup, helping Puerto Rico win the title. In that event, he batted .375/.444/.719 with 3 homers, 7 runs and 10 RBI in 8 games; he was second in RBI, one behind Agustin Murillo and was one homer behind leader Ardley Jansen.
