Carlos Pezzullo debuted in Serie A1 in 2004; the 21-year-old was 4-5 with a 3.87 ERA. In 2005, he went 1-3 with two saves and a 4.34 ERA. In 2006, Pezzullo went 3-3 with five saves and a 2.15 ERA for Nettuno; he fanned 44 in 37 2/3 IP while allowing only 24 hits.
Pezzullo pitched for the Italian national team in the 2006 Intercontinental Cup, going 0-1 with 5 runs in 4 1/3 IP. He had the third-highest ERA on the staff. In 2007, he went 3-2 with a 1.35 ERA for Nettuno. He pitched for Italy in the 2007 European Championship, tossing 2 2/3 shutout innings over three appearances.
The Venezuelan native was 1-1 with 3 saves and a 2.76 ERA in limited action for Nettuno in '08. In the 2008 European Cup in Regensburg, he gave up 2 runs in 4 innings and took the loss against FC Barcelona. During the 2008 European Cup Final Four, the southpaw struck out 4 in 2 2/3 shutout innings and got the win over T&A San Marino that gave Nettuno the victory in the competition.
In 2009, Carlos was 4-3 with a save and a 3.91 ERA for Nettuno. He pitched in the 2009 European Cup, allowing 8 hits and 3 runs in four innings in the first round. In the final four, he relieved Jeff Farnsworth with a 1-0 lead against Bologna in the 9th inning of the championship game and tossed a shutout inning for the save.
