Carlos Ferrer had over 700 hits in Puerto Rico's top amateur league, one of under 20 players to do so. [1] He played for the Puerto Rican national team in the 1975 Pan American Games. [2] He hit .437 for the Bravos de Cidra in 1979 to win a batting title. [3] He was with Puerto Rico for the 1980 Amateur World Series and 1983 Pan American Games. [4] He won Manager of the Year in 1992 and 2016. [5] He coached for Puerto Rico when they won Gold in the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games </ref> He was named first base coach for Puerto Rico for the 2019 Premier 12. [6]
