Biographical information[edit]

Carlos Burguillos is a former minor league baseball player who played from 1991 to 1994 in the Detroit Tigers farm system.

He began his professional career with the Niagara Falls Rapids in 1991, hitting .275/.358/.341 with no home runs and 18 RBI in 167 at-bats. In 352 at-bats with the Fayetteville Generals in 1992, he hit .224/.298/.270 with 13 stolen bases in 25 attempts, no home runs and 38 RBI. He split the 1993 season between the Generals and Lakeland Tigers, hitting .292 with three home runs, 40 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 68 games. In 15 games with Lakeland, he had only 28 at-bats, hitting .286. Burguillos played in 1994 with Lakeland. He hit .220/.282/.263 in 227 at-bats.

Overall, he hit .250 with four home runs, 33 stolen bases and 120 RBI in 323 games in the US. He showed a good eye at the plate, walking 115 times and striking out only 111 times. He finished his career in 1995 with Minatitlan of the Mexican League, batting .252/.314/.344 with 10 steals in 14 tries in 98 games. He helped Venezuela win a Bronze at the 1998 Central American and Caribbean Games.
