Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Carl Williams played in the minor leagues from 1921 to 1927 and again, briefly, in 1931. Though he played in the Pacific Coast League, he never made the major leagues. Per records available, he was 50-47 with a 4.81 run average (ERA unknown). In 1925, he won a career-high 15 games to 7 losses, despite a 5.74 ERA, for the Wichita Falls Spudders. He was also adept with the bat, playing in the field multiple times throughout his career. With the PCL's Seattle Indians, he managed a .296 average in 115 at-bats between 1923 and 1924. He also managed the Spudders for part of 1926 (replacing Fred Brainerd in July), in 1927 and 1928, and in 1930 and 1931. He led the Abilene Aces in 1929. He led the Spudders to a league championship in 1927 and to the league finals in 1928 and 1930, losing both times.

His son, Stuart Williams, played in the minor leagues in the 1940s and 1950s.
