Carey A. Schueler

Biographical Information[edit]

Carey Schueler became the first woman drafted by a Major League Baseball team, when she was taken in the 43rd round of the 1993 Amateur Draft by the Chicago White Sox. It is said that this was only done as a publicity stunt and her father Ron Schueler was the general manager of the team at the time. She didn't sign with the club, rather she decided to play college basketball at DePaul University.
