Camilo Vietti
Camilo Vietti' was the first shortstop in the history of the Cuban national team, a role later filled by numerous major leaguers (ex. Willie Miranda, Adeiny Hechavarria, Erisbel Arruebarruena) and stars back in Cuba (ex. Germán Mesa, Rodolfo Puente, Eduardo Paret). In the 1926 Central American Games, he started in the opener against Mexico (the only other baseball entrant in the tourney), hitting 7th. He went 2 for 4 with a run and had one putout, three assists and an error. The next game, he replaced Jorge Consuegra at short and was 1 for 1. In the finale, he hit 6th and went 1 for 5 while fielding 3 assists. Cuba won all three games for a Gold Medal.
