Jorge Consuegra
Jorge Consuegra y Anchia
Jorge Consuegra and his brother Alfredo Consuegra were the first brothers to team up on the Cuban national team, years before noted pairs like Wilfredo Sánchez/Fernando Sánchez, Liván Hernández/Orlando Hernández or Yulieski Gurriel/Lourdes Gurriel. Jorge and Alfredo were on the first Cuban national team, in the 1926 Central American Games. Like his brother, he sat out game one, then played game 2 against Mexico before sitting out game 3 as Cuba won Gold. He was 1 for 2 with a run and had one putout and one assist with no errors. He backed up Camilo Vietti as Cuba's shortstop.
The Consuegra brothers were back with Cuba at the 1930 Central American Games. Cuba again won Gold; he hit .235 with 3 runs in 5 games and fielded .923 as their main shortstop.
