Biographical Information[edit]
Cal Drummond began his umpiring career in the Alabama State League in 1948. He was out of organized baseball for three years, returning in the Georgia State League in 1952-1953. He worked the South Atlantic League in 1954-1956 and the International League in 1957-1959. Drummond was an American League umpire from 1960 to 1969.
Drummond suffered a head injury when hit by a foul tip on June 10, 1969, and was out for the remainder of the year. He tried to return to action in the American Association on May 1, 1970, but collapsed while working a game the next day and died shortly thereafter.
