Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Byron Elser played in the minor leagues from 1949 to 1951 and from 1954 to 1958. He hit over .300 twice in his career -- in 1949, when he batted .312 in 74 games for the Clinton Steers and in 1957, when he batted .306 in 149 games between the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and Davenport DavSox. In his final campaign, 1958, he hit .299/.371/.412 with six home runs, 95 RBI and 106 runs scored for Colorado Springs. Overall, he hit .288 in 941 games.
