First baseman Butch Moran played 17 seasons of minor league ball. In his first pro season, playing for the Rogers Reds in 1938, he led the Arkansas-Missouri League with a .392 average and 22 home runs. Later in his career, he managed several seasons in the Sunset League and the Pioneer League.
