Biographical Information

Outfielder Buck McNabb was selected by the Houston Astros in the 2nd round of the 1991 amateur draft. He was a Midwest League all-star in 1992 and led the Astros organization with 56 steals with the Burlington Astros. He was a Florida State League all-star in 1993 while playing with the Osceola Astros. McNabb was traded to Cleveland Indians for Mitch Meluskey in 1995, but signed as a free agent with the Astros after the season. Buck played one season, 1998, with the Chicago Cubs organization and one season, 1999, with the Atlanta Braves organization. In 9 seasons of affiliated baseball, he played 28 games in AAA.

In 2000, his first season in independent baseball, he was voted to Baseball America's Independent League All-Star Team. He hit a career high 14 home runs while batting .300 with 36 stolen bases with the Western League's Chico Heat and led the league with 87 runs. He played the next two seasons with the Heat, batting .328 and .335.

McNabb moved to the Central Baseball League with the San Angelo Colts in 2003. He batted .350/~.400/.512, was named Player of the Year, and was once again named to the Independent League All-Star Team. He played with Les Capitales de Quebec in 2004 and 2005, and was selected a Northeast League All-Star in 2004.

In 2006, he was playing softball with Orthopedic Associates in Destin, FL.
