Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Bryan Price was a reliever in college, after which the Boston Red Sox drafted him in the supplemental 1st round of the 2008 amateur draft. He was signed by scout John Booher for $849,000 and reported to short-season ball where he was immediately turned into a starter. In his first season, with the Lowell Spinners, he was 1-3, 3.82.

He moved to the Cleveland Indians organization during the 2009 season as part of the trade for Victor Martinez. He was a combined 6-12, 4.75 in 26 starts for three different teams that year. He was sent back to the bullpen in 2010 and spent the entire season with the AA Akron Aeros. In 40 games, he went 6-3, 3.25 with a save, with 69 strikeouts in 69 1/3 innings against 22 walks. In spite of that good performance, he was back at Akron in 2011 but was limited to 28 games and 51 2/3 innings. His record was 2-3, with a 2.79 ERA and 33 strikeouts. He pitched for the Aeros and Columbus Clippers in 2012, going a combined 2-4 with 4 saves and a 4.00 ERA in 40 relief appearances. He was 2-3 with 4 saves and a 2.04 ERA in 47 games split between the Aeros and Clippers in 2013.
