Biographical Information[edit]

Bryan Muniz played college ball at Southeastern University and majored in biology. The Houston Astros drafted him in the 22nd round of the 2014 amateur draft after his junior season. Muniz was a first baseman in the Astros minor league system from 2014-2017. He began in the rookie level Appalachian League and gradually worked his way up to AA with the Corpus Christi Hooks. Overall, Muniz hit .262 with 22 home runs and an OPS of .737.

The Astros brought Muniz back to their organization in 2021, though there is conflicting information about where he coached that year. He was originally assigned to the Fayetteville Woodpeckers as a development coach and was still listed there as a coach when the season started. Other sources list him as a coach with the FCL Astros. He served as a hitting coach for the FCL Astros Blue in 2022 and Asheville Tourists in 2023-2024.
