Biographical Information[edit]

The brother of Adam Kennedy, Bryan Kennedy was a 24th round draft pick of the Minnesota Twins in the 2001 amateur draft and played five years in the minors.

Bryan debuted with the Elizabethton Twins (.250/.344/.286 in 10 games) and Quad City River Bandits (.200/.385/.275 in 14 games). In 2002, he returned to Quad City and produced at a .279/.386/.395 rate as a reliable backup to Midwest League All-Star Joe Mauer.

Kennedy split 2003 between Quad City (.296/.395/.426 in 63 games), the Fort Myers Miracle (.213/.265/.258 in 25) and the Rochester Red Wings (4 for 13, 3 RBI). In 2004, the 25-year-old made his AA debut by hitting .251/.308/.360 in 67 contests for the New Britain Rock Cats. In his final season, Kennedy hit .239/.321/.291 for Rock Britain wit ha disappointing .147 mark against southpaws. With 70 games behind the plate, he led the team's catchers.
