Brian Nelson (minors05)
Outfielder Brian Nelson hit .216 in 21 games for the 1999 Ozark Mountain Ducks. He had spent 1995-1998 at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. His 38 doubles had been 2nd in school history; in 1998, he led NCAA Division III with 24 doubles. He was a coach for 3 years at Rockford College and 4 years at UW-Stevens Point. He got his Master's in Education in 2003. In 2007, Brian returned to pro baseball as the hitting coach of the Gary SouthShore RailCats. He managed the Windy City ThunderBolts for part of the 2008 season before being fired for a tirade with an umpire in early July.
