Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Brennen Davis was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 2nd round of the 2018 amateur draft, out of a high school in Arizona. He began his pro career that same year with the AZL Cubs 2, hitting .298 in 18 games. In 2019, he spent the season in the Midwest League, with the South Bend Cubs, hitting .305/.381/.525 in 50 games, with 8 homers and 30 RBIs. He couldn't play anywhere in 2020, as the minor leagues were shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2021, he started back with South Bend, now in the High-A Central following the reorganization of the minor leagues and hit .321 in 8 games. He was then promoted to the Tennessee Smokies of the Double-A South and was hitting .278 in 31 games when he was selected as a member of the National League squad at the 2021 Futures Game, that was played at Coors Field in Denver, CO on July 11th. He had a great game, homering twice against Josh Winder and Marcos Diplan to be named the winner of the Larry Doby Award as the game's MVP.
