Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Braxton Lee was a 12th round selection by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2014 amateur draft, out of the University of Mississippi. He began his pro career that year with the Hudson Valley Renegades, hitting .287 with no homers and 13 RBIs in 51 games. He had a good season in the Florida State League in 2015. Lining up for the Charlotte Stone Crabs for 115 games, he hit .281 with 48 runs scored, 23 steals and 105 hits. He ha little power, but his OBP was a solid .347 and he played a very solid center field.

Braxton found the going tougher with the Montgomery Biscuits of the Southern League in 2016. He fell to .209/.259/.256 in 110 games, and was even caught stealing in 10 of 23 stolen base attempts. He returned to Montgomery in 2017 and was doing much better, hitting .321 in 76 games with his first two professional homers, when on June 26th he was traded to the Miami Marlins alongside fellow prospect Ethan Clark in return for veteran major league shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria.

Lee reached the majors with the Marlins in 2018, going 0-for-4 against the Chicago Cubs on March 30th in his big league debut.

Lee became a coach with the ACL Giants in 2024.
